I love Sally Hansen and I was excited to find a gorgeous colour in the Triple Shine range. However, it takes way too long to dry. I have tried it several times doing the thinnest possible coats and it still takes over 20 minutes to dry completely. I have to do multiple coats and i don’t have hours to sit around waiting for it to dry. As I said, love the colours but incredibly disappointed with this product.

Although I don’t believe this is the best polish Sally Hansen has put out I do think it’s really great. The large curved brush is fantastic for my nails and helps the polish apply quickly and smoothly. I’ve used Wavy Blue several times and it wears well. I change my nails often but have gotten four full days out of my mani before it chipped. Not a lot of drug store polishes do that. The first coat looks uneven and awful but the second coat makes everything look smooth and gorgeous. The shine doesn’t last any longer with this polish than others on the market but it has everything else going for it.

Maybe it’s just me, since fat brushes seem to be all the rage these days, but honestly? I hate them. I have enough trouble staying on the nail with skinny brushes, the fat brushes are impossible for me to effectively paint my nails without looking like a kindergartener did it.. ok, so maybe it’s not quite that bad, but it’s close.

I do love the color choices, though I wish there was a little more variety. I’d love a Taheati as a glittery color – my Orioles are in the playoffs and that’s exactly the color combination I’ve been searching for and you were the first place I looked. But no… sadness.

Thanks to Influenster I received a bottle of Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Statemint. I’m more of a classic colors kind of girl but I really wanted to see how this polish worked. I do a lot of work with my hands in water – washing dishes, scrubbing floors, pretreating clothes, gardening, and of course bathing myself or my children. One big problem that I have is polish peeling off my nails once they’ve been subjected to a few minutes in water. It’s incredibly frustrating to barely be able to go a day without having to start all over on a manicure. The waiting is torture when you have things to do or are really tired after a long day and just want to go to bed.

The Sally Hansen Triple Shine polish proved beneficial on a couple of points –

    1. The curved brushed proved useful for less messy and quicker application
    2. The polish goes on thin and dries quickly
    3. There were no bubbles in the polish even 24 hours after initial application
    4. The polish, after two days anyway, has not chipped and does not get marked by contact with other nails – sets up nice and hard
    5. The polish did not dull or peel off my nails after a session of dish washing followed by a shower
    6. Heals up nicely if you need to apply another coat to cover scratches

    A few cons –
    1. Two coats were not enough to get an even coat on the nails – at least this color required three
    2. Though the color did not dull in water if it came in got scuffed off the nail if it came in contact with anything with a little bit of texture in the water, ie. dishwashing (this was significant because I do have another Sally Hansen polish that does not do this)
    3. The polish wears away from the ends of the nails fairly easily if it’s not sealed with a top coat

Clam Baked(?) was the one I bought and it looks like a matte pink but actually has very time frost that is a bluish tint that makes it very eye catching.
